TODAY’S CIPHER IS ONE OF THESE ◢
The message moves to a different cipher every day. Each one has its own tool here - open it, paste the message in, and read it straight off.
- Morse Code - Dots and dashes. Letters split by spaces, words by /.
- Binary - 8-bit ASCII. Each character becomes eight ones and zeros.
- Caesar (shift 3) - Rome’s cipher. Every letter slides three along the alphabet.
- Atbash - Mirror the alphabet - A becomes Z, B becomes Y.
- A1Z26 - Letters as numbers - A is 1, Z is 26.
- NATO Phonetic - Alfa Bravo Charlie - the radio spelling alphabet.
- Braille - Grade-1 braille. Each letter becomes a raised-dot cell.
HOW TO READ IT ◢
Work out which cipher you are looking at first - the name is printed above the message, so that part is free. Dots and dashes split by slashes is Morse. Runs of eight ones and zeros is binary. Numbers between one and twenty-six is A1Z26. Words like Alfa, Bravo and Charlie are the NATO alphabet. Raised-dot cells are braille. Ordinary-looking gibberish is a letter-for-letter swap, which means Caesar or Atbash - and both of those have a tool on this site that will undo them in one paste. Typing the answer is case-insensitive and ignores punctuation, so you only have to get the words right.
