WHAT THE FLAG MEANSÂ â—˘
Three horizontal bands of yellow, green and red with a large white five-pointed star in the centre. The constitution carries the State Flag in a chapter of its own and prescribes the design without interpreting it. The yellow is conventionally read for solidarity, the green for peace and greenery, the red for courage and decisiveness, and the white star for the union of the country. The flag replaced the previous one in 2010, when it was changed without ceremony partway through a working day.
