Serbia

A landlocked country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, Serbia sits where the Sava meets the Danube - and where, legend holds, more Roman emperors were born than anywhere outside Rome.

WHAT THE FLAG MEANS ◢

A horizontal Pan-Slavic tricolour of red, blue and white, with the national coat of arms set toward the hoist: a white double-headed eagle on a red shield, carrying on its breast a smaller red shield with a white cross between four firesteels. Article 7 of the constitution provides that Serbia has a flag used as both national and state flag and leaves its appearance to law, assigning it no meaning. Red, blue and white are the shared Pan-Slavic colours.
