Slovakia
A landlocked Central European nation carved from the peaks of the High Tatras, Slovakia has more castles and chateaux per person than almost anywhere, and a capital that borders two other countries.
WHAT THE FLAG MEANSÂ â—˘
A horizontal Pan-Slavic tricolour of white, blue and red, with the national coat of arms toward the hoist: a white double cross rising from the middle of three blue hills on a red shield. Article 8 of the constitution names the state emblem and the national flag among the state symbols and interprets neither. The double cross is conventionally read as a Christian emblem and the three hills as the ranges of Tatra, Fatra and Matra.
