Palau is a scatter of hundreds of islands in the western Pacific, home to barely more people than a small town but famous with divers the world over. Its Rock Islands are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A single light-blue field with a large yellow disc set slightly toward the hoist. The constitution has no flag provision. The blue is conventionally read for the ocean and for the passage to nationhood, and the disc as the full moon, which Palauan tradition treats as the most auspicious time for fishing, planting and celebration.
